The iconic 861-year-old Gothic cathedral – Notre Dame de Paris – was officially opened on Saturday. In April 2019, a major fire incident damaged the roof and upper walls of the famous cathedral. Built on the Île de la Cité in 1163 at the initiative of the Bishop of Paris, Maurice de Sully, the cathedral was the largest structure in Europe in the 12th century, with a surface area of 64,000 square feet.
The grand re-opening ceremony was attended by several high-profile attendees, including US President-elect Donald Trump, First Lady Jill Biden, Britain’s Prince William, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. There were also various presentations in the program.
Now, a video of a woman’s soulful performance Amazing graceA best-loved hymn written by John Newton in the late eighteenth century is winning hearts on the Internet. In the three-minute long video, the woman is shown singing a soulful bhajan.

The video garnered over two million views, winning praise from many social media users. “Literally gives me goosebumps. The world is healing,” one user wrote. “Beautiful Yende from South Africa. She even sang at King Charles’ coronation,” another user commented.
“What a beautiful presentation so emotional! I don’t know who she is but the world will soon!” wrote a third user.
The grand event also included the awakening of the Great Organ––the largest in France, with 8,000 pipes––and a series of prayers and hymns, culminating in a performance by the choir. Te DeumA famous Latin hymn.
