Gujarat witnessed a mega reshuffle on Monday with the transfer of 24 senior police officers across the state.
Among them was senior IPS (Indian Police Service) officer S Pandiya Rajkumar, popularly known as Rajkumar Pandian. He has been transferred from the post of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), CID (Crime and Railways) to Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order).
Pandya has been at the center of opposition from the Congress, led by its state working president Jignesh Mevani, who accused him of misconduct and sought his removal from the post of Additional Director General of Police (SC/ST Cell). Pandya has been holding additional charge of ADGP (SC/ST Cell, Human Rights and Social Justice).
Meanwhile, Pandya has taken over the charge of law and order from DGP Shamsher Singh, who is holding additional charge as director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Besides Pandya, Ajay Kumar Chaudhary, Special Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Ahmedabad has been transferred as Additional Director General (Women Cell) Gandhinagar. Vidhi Chaudhary, who is awaiting promotion, has been posted as Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Branch), Ahmedabad City, in place of Chaudhary. Vidhi will also hold the additional charge of Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration), Ahmedabad City.
Shripal Shesma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2), Ahmedabad city has been transferred and will now await further posting.
Senior IPS officer, ML Ninama, who is Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) in Vadodara, has been posted as Inspector General of Police, State Traffic Branch, Gandhinagar. Another important transfer in the city is the transfer of Leena Patil from the post of Additional Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) to the post of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Law and Order).
Jaipal Singh Rathore, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajkot Rural, has been transferred to Ahmedabad City as Additional Commissioner of Police, Sector 2. IPS officer Sudhir Desai has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Intelligence, Gandhinagar.
Balram Meena, Superintendent of Police (Western Railway), Ahmedabad has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-1, Ahmedabad City. Amreli District Superintendent of Police Himkar Singh has been transferred to Rajkot Rural Superintendent of Police.
Whereas Usha Rada, Commandant, SRPF (State Reserve Police Force), Group 6, Sabarkantha, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent, Jail, Vadodara; District Superintendent of Police, Patan, Ravindra Patel has been appointed as the Executive Director of Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation, Gandhinagar.
Vikas Sunda, who is awaiting posting, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police of Kutch-Bhuj (West).
