The Gujarat state GST department said in a statement on December 5 that a tax evasion of around Rs 2.5 crore was detected by entities dealing in artificial flowers and decorative items.
A search was conducted in 11 such businessmen in Ahmedabad where “irregularities like unaccounted sales and unaccounted stock were found and total liability of around Rs 2.50 crore and total liability of around Rs 3.50 crore,” the statement added.
