Man’s suicide in Bangalore, police suspect marital discord Bangalore News

A 34-year-old man was found dead at his residence in Munnekolala on Monday in a suspected suicide, Bengaluru police said, adding that the man had left a 24-page death note.

Bengaluru police said the victim, Atul Suhas, shared his death note on Save Indian Family Foundation’s WhatsApp group late on Sunday, in which he mentioned a marital dispute when he sought the NGO’s help. They said that a board written ‘Justice is Due’ was found around the neck of Suhas, who is from Uttar Pradesh and works in a technical firm in Marathahalli.

A police officer said his wife, who works in a multinational company in Delhi, had filed nine cases against him and his parents, including dowry harassment, murder and unnatural sex. “It seems that he had planned his death and had stuck a timetable on his cupboard that had Day 1 and Day 2 written and what he had to do before he died,” the officer said.

According to the police, Suhas wrote a list of people to whom he should keep the key of his room and sent it via email to the Supreme Court and the High Court. He also mentioned clearing financial commitments, returning his office laptop and ID, erasing his fingerprints and facial recognition from his mobile phone, among other things.

The Marathahalli police have registered a case against Suhas’ wife and three other members of his family under Section 108 (incitement to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
