The final voter list for the Gurgaon, Manesar municipal elections will be released on January 6 Delhi News

The Election Commissioner of Haryana has released the schedule for the final publication of voter lists ahead of the local body elections for Gurgaon and Manesar, Pataudi Municipal Committee and Farooq Nagar Municipality next year.

Gurgaon District Election Officer Ajay Kumar said on Monday that the final revised voter list will be published on January 6.

The tenure of Gurgaon Municipal Corporation councilors ended on November 2 last year and elections have been pending since then.

After a video conference with the state election commissioner on Monday, Kumar said that the electoral roll used for the Lok Sabha and assembly elections will be released by December 16.

Ajay Kumar further said that under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Election Rules, 1994, all claims and objections submitted till December 27 will be addressed by the competent authorities.

“Now the preliminary draft of the electoral roll at the municipal level will be displayed in all the booths on December 17. Voters can check their name, address, photograph and other details in the list. Based on this draft, voters can submit the form for correction, new registration or deletion by December 23,” the administration said in a statement.

The municipal election will be held based on the revised voter list, the official said.

“If a voter disagrees with any decision, they can file an appeal with the District Commissioner by December 31. These appeals will be resolved by January 3, 2025. Thereafter, the final voter list will be published on January 6,” he said.

Kumar emphasized that the work of preparing the revised voter list will be done in a fair and transparent manner.

The district administration said last year that the blueprint for carving out the wards of Gurugram Municipal Corporation (MCG) and Manesar Municipal Corporation (MCM) has been prepared and both these corporations will have 36 and 20 wards respectively.
