The first meeting of the governing body of the state government’s think tank – Gujarat Institution for Transformation (GRIT) was held in Gandhinagar on Monday where it signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) to utilize its knowledge, skills, abilities. Expertise, and network to address key issues and schemes of state government.
The think tank was announced in July this year to prepare the roadmap for 2047 at the ninth meeting of NITI Aayog’s Governing Council.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel presided over Monday’s meeting where a presentation was made by newly appointed GRIT CEO and retired IAS officer S Aparna.
The MoU with IIMA was signed by Aparna, IIMA Director Bharat Bhaskar and Governing Board Chairman Pankaj Patel. It was decided to extend the development hub model implemented by NITI Aayog for Surat region to other regions of Gujarat.
Finance Minister Kanu Desai, Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput, Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel and Education Minister Kuber Dindor participated in the meeting.
Hasmukh Adhia, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister was also present in the meeting besides other officials.
