In a tragic incident, two tourists who were strolling in Ubud Monkey Forest, a popular tourist spot in Bali, Indonesia, fell on a large tree and died. A day before the incident, it was reported that there was heavy rain and wind in the area.
According to Sky NewsOne of them was from France and another from South Korea. The sanctuary issued an official statement condemning the death of the tourists and announced the closure of the forest on December 11 and 12.
A viral video shows the terrifying moment tourists realize a huge tree is falling and run for their lives. As the video progresses, it shows chaos as a large tree crashes to the ground. Among the many tourists, a child, wandering around, can also be seen in the video.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Indonesian Senator for Bali 2024-2029, Ni Luh Putu Arya Pertami Jelantik wrote, “It is with deep regret to report that two foreign tourists lost their lives after being hit by banyan, pule and kresek trees in the Monkey Forest in Ubud on Tuesday afternoon.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones of those affected by this unfortunate incident,” the post said.

“We are still collecting data about the victims because the consulate is contacting us to check whether their nationals were involved,” Gusti Ngurah Divya Presta, head of emergency and logistics at the Gianyar Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), said, the Jakarta Globe reported.
