Himachal Pradesh received its first snowfall of the season on Sunday, turning the hills into a winter wonderland. While tourists and locals celebrated the snowfall by taking pictures and videos, many experienced the horror of touring the hill station in a vehicle.
A video of cars skidding on the road near Solang Valley in Manali is going viral on the internet. It shows several vehicles stuck on the snowy road and tourists trying to stop the vehicles from sliding uncontrollably. A vehicle can be seen at the edge of the ditch.
The video taken on December 9 was shared by travel vlogger Hamza Murtaza on Instagram. He wrote in the caption, ‘The situation is very difficult and uncontrolled.

The video quickly gained traction, raising safety concerns for tourists stranded in disaster areas amid heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. One user wrote, “Many European countries have special tires for snow or slippery roads. Even in India we see jeeps with iron chains, why is this not made mandatory for all vehicles. ” Another user commented, “Himachal Pradesh is really beautiful but it’s dangerous for new drivers, experience is needed here.”
