In Parliament today, MPs from the Indian section staged a ‘rose and tricolor’ display, urging the government to ‘discuss all issues’. India news

Members of Parliament (MPs) from the opposition Bharatiya faction stood outside Parliament on Wednesday, with roses and the tricolor in hand, urging the government to ensure the smooth running of the House and discussion of all issues, including the Adani issue.

This is part of the latest edition of the protests outside Parliament, where a few days ago opposition MPs carried dark blue ‘bags’ with caricatures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani and the word ‘Modi’. ‘Adni Bhai Bhai’ is printed on the other side.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, MPs from Congress, DMK, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Left parties, standing in front of Makar Dwar with a small tricolor card and rose in hand, greeted the Indian people. The MPs of the party (BJP) asked for the smooth functioning of today’s House.

Many MPs carried placards with the slogan ‘Don’t sell the country’.

Opposition parties have also demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the alleged collusion between the Modi government and Adani.

On Monday, Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi conducted a “mock interview” with Congress leaders wearing Modi and Adani masks in Parliament premises.

Congress and some other opposition parties have been demanding a JPC probe since Adani and other company executives were indicted in US courts. The party said Adani’s indictment “reinforces” its demand for a JPC probe into various “scams” involving the group of billionaire industrialists.

Rahul Gandhi has criticized the Modi government over the PSB fund

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X that while Public Sector Banks (PSBs) are designed to give every citizen of the country access to credit, Narendra Modi’s regime has turned them into “private financiers for rich and powerful corporations.”

“Public sector banks have not been able to serve the people effectively because they are forced to prioritize profit over the people. With staff shortages and a toxic work environment, they are expected to achieve unattainable goals without a level playing field,” Gandhi tweeted.

He also said that women employees are not given equal opportunities and advancement in these banks and they are under the grip of disaffected masses.

“The Modi government should stop using PSBs as an unlimited source of funds for its fraudulent cronies. There is more to a public sector bank than a dividend check to the government at the end of the year,” the Congress leader posted.
