Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s horse riding accident on Wednesday left one policeman dead and six others injured.
CM Sharma’s cavalry was coming from Jagatpura in Jaipur when a taxi coming from the wrong side in the right direction hit the cavalry.
According to eyewitnesses, the taxi hit the first two vehicles on the horse at Akshaya Patra Chowk. Chief Minister Sharma got out of his car and took the injured to the hospital in his car.
Assistant Inspector Surendra Singh, who was trying to stop a speeding vehicle near the intersection, was hit by a car and died. Singh died in the evening after suffering a head injury. Five policemen including him were injured in the incident. Two civilians including the taxi driver were also injured.
The identity of the taxi driver is Pawan Kumar Kalu Ram. Ministers Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Jhabarsingh Kharra reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured.
