Hitting back at the opposition for its notice Vice President Jagdeep DhankharThe BJP on Wednesday sought to frame it as an “insult” to the Jat community and a “farmer’s son from a humble background”.
Targeting the Congress, the BJP called it a diversionary tactic to divert the spotlight from the “nexus” between the Nehru-Gandhi family and billionaire George Soros.
“Today, those who talk about caste are moving a no-confidence motion against Jagdeep Dhankhar, the son of a poor farmer. This is an insult to a farmer’s son from a humble background. Congress and its allies know that the numbers are not stacked in their favor. This notification is falling. But to insult the Jat community, this is the first time in the history of the Rajya Sabha that a party has issued such a notice against the Speaker,” said BJP MP and spokesperson Sambit Patra.
“Jats are nationalists. They shed their blood for India’s freedom. Today they have accused a Jat Vice President like this. They are trying to humiliate him by insisting that he is not doing his job properly. Let me tell you, a farmer’s son, a Jat, never bows his head. He will never bow down, and the honor of Jats in India will always remain intact,” he said at a press conference.
“Even earlier they used bad language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu. Now they are doing the same with the Vice President. I am surprised that Congress has played the caste card. They insult the OBC Prime Minister every day… Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, the then leader of Congress (in Lok Sabha), used offensive language for Draupadi Murmu, daughter of Odisha, a tribal community. Recently, Rahul Gandhi sat in his chair in front of the President. He did not even show the courtesy of standing when he stood,’ he said.
“It’s all just a ploy to save the Nehru-Gandhi family from the George Soros association,” alleged Patra.
Last week, the BJP alleged in the Lok Sabha that a “dangerous triangle” of US billionaire investor George Soros, news portal OCCRP (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project) and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was trying to “derail India. A success story”. BJP rallies to defend itself: Insults of Jats and farmers, bids to oust Soros.
