Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Wednesday drew applause from some southern MPs who have expressed displeasure at the use of Hindi for mostly official communications. Vaishnav, who in the past also tried to learn Tamil words and their correct pronunciation, was responding to a question raised by DMK’s T Sumathi on railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme in Tamil Nadu. “I want to pronounce Chennai Egmore (station) as Chennai Elumbar.
