The Jammu and Kashmir government is committed to ensuring equality and social justice for all, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha said on Thursday, adding that the pace of infrastructure development in the union territory has increased manifold in the last five years.
Addressing a program to mark the Martyrdom Day of military strategist General Zorawar Singh, the LG spoke about the campaigns of Dogra era warriors in Ladakh, Baltistan and Tibet, highlighting his immense contribution to the expansion of the Dogra Empire.
“The lives and deeds of great men always inspire others. General Zorawar Singh’s leadership inspired millions of people to unite for the path of equitable development. His vision and values guide us to work for those sections of the society who are left behind,” Sinha said.
The LG also shared the efforts made by the JK government under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor the contributions of great personalities like General Singh.
Talking about the transformation in JK over the past few years, Sinha reiterated that equality and social justice are top priorities of the government.
“People’s welfare is my religion and my duty. It has been ensured that the benefits of development without discrimination reach all sections of the society, said Sinha.
Stating that the government’s progressive and citizen-centric policy has strengthened the confidence of the general public towards the governance system, Sinha claimed that the pace of infrastructure development has also increased along with the speedy progress of hundreds of stalled projects in the past five years. He said that the ideals of democracy and the values written in the constitution have become an integral part of the good governance process.
Calling upon the youth to selflessly serve the society and contribute to nation building, Sinha said, “I am confident that together we will realize the vision of a developed India.”
