Indian squad for inaugural U19 Women’s Asia Cup: Niki Prasad named captain for tournament in Malaysia | Cricket News

BCCI on Thursday announced the Indian squad for the opening of the ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup, which will begin on December 15 at Biomass Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The week-long tournament will serve as a warm-up phase for the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup starting January 25 in Malaysia. Karnataka’s Niki Prasad will lead the team while Sanika Chalke has been appointed as the vice-captain.

In the 6-team tournament, India U-19 and Pakistan U-19 are in Group ‘A’. Bangladesh U-19, Sri Lanka U-19 and hosts Malaysia U-19 are in Group ‘B’.

India will play their first match against Pakistan on Sunday and Nepal on Tuesday. The final will be held on Sunday, December 22.
