Atul Subhash, a resident of Munnekollal, was found dead in his apartment on Monday. After his death, his brother Vikas Kumar filed a complaint against Subhash’s wife Nikita Singhania, his mother Nisha, brother Anurag and uncle Sushil for abetting suicide. They are accused of demanding Rs 3 crore to withdraw the case against Atul and Rs 30 lakh to meet their son.

Officials confirmed that a team led by an inspector with Marathahalli police was sent to UP on Wednesday.

Reports indicated that Nisha and Anurag fled their Jaunpur home late on Wednesday. Video clips that surfaced on social media also show them leaving the house in the middle of the night. “We have not received any official communication from the Bengaluru police,” Jaunpur SP Ajaypal Sharma said on Thursday.
