After a man was arrested for allegedly hurling a bomb in front of a club in Gurgaon’s Sector 29 on Tuesday, a social media post allegedly by Rohit Godara, an aide of Lawrence Bishnoi, emerged claiming responsibility for the blast on Thursday. However, the police said that they are checking the authenticity of the post.
Two homemade bombs were detonated outside the Human nightclub at 5:15 am on Tuesday. According to the police, Sachin, a member of the Goldi Brar gang, was sent to threaten the club owner. A case has been filed against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
In the purported post, Godara mentioned that gamblers, speculators, hawala traders and dance clubs “have to pay taxes on those who earn crores every day”.
“…We blasted bombs outside two clubs in Chandigarh a few days ago and in Gurgaon Sector 29 two days ago. Gamblers, speculators, hawala traders and dance clubs who earn crores of rupees daily should all be prosecuted. Pay taxes. This is a small demo to open your ears. We can make an even bigger bang that will destroy dance clubs like this. Do not take this as our warning, those who do what they say,” he said.
“Everyone who sucks the blood of the poor and earns crores illegally by evading the country’s taxes should pay,” he said.
The police said that they are trying to find out the truth of the post. “We will check the ID which was sent by post… We are interrogating the accused and will take action accordingly,” an official said.
“The club owners received extortion calls. To threaten them further, the accused hurled two bombs. It was the same modus operandi used by the same terrorist module that bombed clubs in Chandigarh last month,” the officer added. Brar’s associates were arrested in the Chandigarh case.
