Technical farmers in agriculture are the main focus of the exhibition Pune news

The 33rd edition of Kisan, India’s largest agricultural exhibition, has been inaugurated with the arrival of the first batch of farmers. The event, which will be held at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Center at Moshi near Bhosari, will run from December 11 to December 15, 2024. More than 500 companies are expected to participate in the exhibition spread over an area of more than 15 acres. Attract over a million visitors, surpassing last year’s 1.75 million attendees.

The exhibition serves as a platform to showcase the latest products and innovative concepts in agriculture, drawing attention to solutions tailored to Indian agro-climatic conditions. Special pavilions focus on areas such as agro-inputs, conservation agriculture, water management, tools, implements, seeds, and planting materials, making it easier for farmers to discover their interests.

Farmers attending the exhibition can see groundbreaking farm technologies, especially advanced drones, and modern tractors and harvesters. Leading agricultural organizations and associations are also present to bridge the gap between industry and farmers while promoting knowledge sharing.

Niranjan Deshpande, organizer of the exhibition said, “This year is the 31st anniversary of the exhibition and we are proud to present many advanced agricultural products and equipment with new technologies. Drones are a significant highlight at the exhibition this year. Compared to last year’s 1.75 lakh visitors, this number will break the target and we hope that more visitors will come. Although Chinese companies are not participating due to post-Covid visa issues, manufacturers from Japan, Israel and Korea have joined along with our strong Indian representation. About 93% of the participants are farmers from Maharashtra, while the remaining participants are from across India.”

Balaji Baburao Lasurne, a 50-year-old farmer from Latur who owns 150 acres of land, visited the exhibition for the first time. Expressing his excitement, he said, “I heard about this exhibition from farmers in my village, and curiosity brought me here. The scale and offerings are incredible. I learned a lot about new farming techniques and innovations which really excited me.”

Sunil Thorath, 42, another farmer visitor from Beed who cultivates wheat, sorghum and sugarcane said, “The exhibition introduced me to new technologies, equipment and fertilizers that I have already purchased. This is a great opportunity for farmers to increase their knowledge and resources. “
