The Maharashtra BJP state executive meeting will be held in Shirdi on January 12, state party president Chandrasekhar Bawankule said on Friday. This is the first BJP convention in the state since the Mahayuti alliance won the assembly elections last month.
“January 12 is celebrated as Swami Vivekananda’s birthday across the country. On this occasion, the BJP will reaffirm its promise to connect with the youth and increase their participation in the organisation. 10,000 delegates will attend the meeting,” Bawankule said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and national BJP president JP Nadda will be the chief guests at the state executive meeting. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, under whose leadership the BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 132 of the 288 seats in the assembly elections, will be felicitated at the meeting.
The BJP is expected to outline its organizational roadmap and long-term programmes. As the local and civil body elections may be held soon, the party will also pay attention to the upcoming challenges.
‘The party has worked to reach the youth. The party believes that the youth is the backbone of a strong organization and should connect with the right wing in large numbers not only for politics but also for socio-economic and welfare programmes,” Bawankule said.
