UGC NET December 2024: The National Examinations Agency (NTA) has today started the application window for the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). Candidates registered for the December session can edit their application form with a special fee amount on the official website-ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The UGC NET editing window remains open till 11:59 PM tomorrow (December 14). Candidates who need to make edits will have to login using application number, date of birth and password followed by captcha code for final verification.

UGC NET 2024: What can be edited?

Not every field can be edited by candidates. Those candidates who have authenticated using Aadhaar card cannot edit: their name, gender, photograph, signature, mobile number, email address, permanent or postal address, or examination city, however, date of birth, category, father’s name, and such as categories. Mother’s name can be edited.

The exam is scheduled to be conducted between January 1 and January 19. Once the editing option is over, the exam center city will be notified, and the admit card will be issued after some time.

In the June 19 session, a day after the exam was conducted, the Center canceled the crucial exam for entry-level teaching jobs and PhD admissions in Indian universities, following inputs from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that “integrity. The exam may have been compromised”.

The input was a screenshot of the UGC-NET paper circulated on a Telegram channel at 2 pm on the day of the exam (June 18), with messages and comments suggesting it was leaked before the first session. Later in August, the agency re-announced the revised dates for the June session. The UGC NET was then conducted between August 21 and September 4 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
