Akhilesh Yadav: Trying to make minorities, especially Muslims, second class citizens Delhi News

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday alleged that efforts were being made to reduce the country’s minorities, especially Muslims, to “second-class citizens”, and their properties, including places of worship, were being “grabbed”.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha debate on 75 years of the Constitution, Yadav flagged the PDA issues-Pichda (backward), Dalit (scheduled caste) and Minority (minority) and said ‘do or die’. Today’s movement was necessary to save the constitution. This slogan started the Quit India movement against the British.

In his address, Yadav accused the government of neglecting the minorities and said, ‘Atrocities against the minorities are increasing, their property is being looted, they are being killed, houses are being demolished, places of worship are being occupied. Administration support.”

Yadav highlighted how people were prevented from exercising their right to vote. Referring to the recent assembly by-election in the minority-dominated Mirapur seat of Uttar Pradesh, he said, “People across the country had seen photographs of police officers threatening women and preventing them from voting on the instructions of the UP government. By pointing a revolver.”

Depicting similarities with the authoritarian regime, Yadav said, “This system is rapidly going towards authoritarianism… Even Hitler, after being elected by the people, amended the constitution and established authoritarianism.” Our government is also trying to move in parallel.”

Yadav also alleged that freedom of speech in today’s context means “sedition (शैद्धरो)” and “if you are not of the BJP’s opinion and belong to another religion, you deserve torture(d).” ‘Now there is also a problem in worship. Because the elements who seek temples under every mosque do not want peace in the country and they do not care about the law,” he said.

Yadav alleged that the government only cares about 10 percent of the population and inequality has increased in the country after 2014. Out of the 1400 million people of the country, 820 million people are living on government ration while 2/3 of the country’s total wealth was captured by a few families.
