Mahakumbh 2025 will be a “great sacrifice of unity” that will take the country’s cultural and spiritual identity to new heights, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday, emphasizing the event’s role in promoting social cohesion as well as economic empowerment of communities.

Modi was addressing a public meeting here after inaugurating development projects to improve the city’s infrastructure and provide better facilities to pilgrims during the Kumbh Mela. The Prime Minister said that caste and sect discrimination will be eliminated in the program.

He also performed the “Kumbha-Abhishek” of the Kumbh Kalash and other rituals and set the ball rolling on projects worth around Rs 5,500 crore in Sangam.

‘A new history has been written on the land of Prayagraj,’ Modi alleged that despite its religious importance, the previous governments did not pay much attention to the Mahakumbh and caused inconvenience to the devotees. He alleged that this happened because the previous governments did not have a strong relationship with the country’s culture.

He said that the present government – both the central and state governments respect the faith and culture of the country, so crores of money are being spent on development projects by both these governments to make the 45-day festival a success. Scheduled to begin in January, 2025.

‘The glimpse of the government approach I am talking about has been seen in this Mahakumbh too,’ said the Prime Minister, ‘attempts have been made so that the devotees do not have any difficulty in contacting them.

This time too, crores of people from different states will gather in Mahakumbh, he said. “They may have different languages, different religions, different beliefs, but when they come to Sangam city, they will all be one,” said the Prime Minister.

Referring to Mahakumbha as ‘Great Yagya of Unity’, the Prime Minister said here ‘Har Ek Tarah Ke Bhed Bhava Ko Ahuti Di Jati Ho’.

“Every Indian who takes a dip in the Sangam here presents a wonderful picture of one India, a better India,” Modi said.

He claims that an important aspect of the tradition of Mahakumbh will give direction to the country at this time. At the time of Kumbh, the important issues faced by the country, the challenges faced by the country were widely discussed in debates, dialogues, debates and discussions of saints and then the sadhus together gave new energy to the society. “At Kumbh, sadhus and scholars used to discuss the joys and sorrows of the society, think about the present and the future… and today the importance of big events like Mahakumbh remains the same. Such incidents send a positive message to society in every corner of the country, national thinking is necessary.” Modi said.

The prime minister emphasized that Prayagraj is also the land of Nishadraj and Shringwerpur (considered as Nishadraj’s kingdom), an important point in Lord Rama’s journey to become Mariam Purushottam. He said that Shringwerpur Dham is developing and the idols of Lord Ram and Nishadraj will continue to convey the message of equality and harmony to future generations.

Asserting that his government is focused on enriching heritage along with the development of Ramayana Circuit, Sri Krishna Circuit, Buddha Circuit, Tirthankar Circuit, Modi said that his government has given importance to those places. A country that was not previously in focus.

Citing Ayodhya and the construction of the Ram temple there as an example, the Prime Minister said, “We are all witnesses of how the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya has made the entire city grand. Today, Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Mahaloka is being discussed all over the world. Modi said.

Claiming that Mahakumbh is going to be held in 2025 when technology has progressed much compared to the previous Mahakumbh in 2013, the Prime Minister suggested to launch the Kumbh assistant chatbot which will be available for communication in 11 languages. A photography competition can be organized. He said that it will arouse interest among the youth and when these pictures reach the social media, it will also give a bigger canvas. He said that Mahakumbh will also help in the economic activities of this region.
